Autopilot Healthy Way of Living
Roy Baumeister author of “Willpower: Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength” tells us to use self-control to set-up lots of good habits which then leads to an autopilot healthy way of living which doesn’t tax one’s self-control. This leads to less guilt, living longer, being more productive, and having more success. So in essence, we must use our willpower at first to start a new healthy habit. But if we stick with it, it will become automatic and not require will power any longer. Thus we can have a lot of willpower remaining in the tank for situations that we really need it.
